Skiing in Kharkov

Skiing is a dance, and the mountain always leads

“Kharkov Switzerland” (Kharkovskaya Shveytsariya)

It is a lovely place which is located at the very north of the city. It has 2 tracks 300 meters each. Altitude drop is about 70 meters. One track is slightly dropping, and the other at the beginning has 30% down gradient and around 45% at the end. Moreover, there is track specially designed for sledge, which is
located aside from the main tracks. Two elevators will lift you up less then for 5 minutes. Ski trails are groomed with snowcats.
More than 100 people can simultaneously ski there. Here you also can rent necessary outfit, warm yourself and rest in Ukrainian café. 
You can find this local “Switzerland” by following this instructions: If you are coming from the center go along Sumskaya str., if from Saltovka – Chkalova str., and then go along Belgorodskoye shosse. Also you can take any bus or marshrutka which goes to Patihatki and stop at sign «Ð‘аза отдыха Фэдовец», then turn right and at the nearest junction again turn right. There is parking for 200 places.

“Alpine valley” (Alpiyskaya dolina)

This mountain-ski resort was founded in 2003. It has special equipment for covering the slopes with an artificial snow. During first 5 frosty days in

December, the territory gets covered with an artificial snow and the skiing season opens in time despite the weather. During summer time the territory of the

alpine valley is an ideal place for nature retreat. Also here you can rest in a cozy café, fish, play paintball, roast shashlyk etc.

How to find: Kharkov region, Zmievskoy district, near Borovaya village, in 15 km from the city. If you are coming by car, pass Vasishevo village.

Monday – Thursday from 9.00 to 23.00;
Friday, Saturday from 9.00 to 24.00;
Sunday - 9.00 - 22.00;

“Khai”

From 1982 near National Aerospace University exists skiing track. The University together with sport club “Virazh” create new skiing center. It has skiing school, elevator, plans to open new tracks, install several snow cannons and new elevators.
The length of the hill is around 300 meters with different levels of the altitude. New freeride 500 meters track was created. It goes through the wood, here you can ski days and nights, because it has good lights.
Parking for 100 cars.  
This skiing center is located right behind hostels of the National Aerospace University close to Chkalova street.

   Hey! I am afraid, you will have to go there personally and prepay for the table. If you are not a big company and it is a a normal day (without special guests), do not bother with reservation, just come earlier - there surely will be some tables to take.
