The National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnical Institute” (NTU “KhPI”) is a high school of IV degree accreditation and is subordinated to the Ministry of education and science. It is considered as one of the best five universities of Ukraine. It was founded in 1885 and now trains specialists in 89 specialties at 23 faculties. The University is the only one in Ukraine that trains engineers in such lines as turbine-building, electric insulation, boiler-&-reactor engineering, cable and capacitor engineering, technology of fats and fat substitutes. The University is constantly developing: over the last 5 years 23 new specialties had been created. The training staff of the NTU “KhPI” amounts to 1300 persons. Among them are 165 doctors of sciences, professors, 760 docents and candidates of sciences.
The University constantly expands its international relations with other leading educational establishments of the USA, Germany, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Romania, Poland, China and Vietnam. Currently more than 500 foreign students study at the university.
