How much do we need

From the very beginning Kharkov was planned to be a reserve city of Euro 2012 in Ukraine, but now it is the main one (if, of course, it will not flunk in December). Now Kharkov is hold up as an example to other Ukrainian cities in preparation to the Euro. The renewed ìMetallistî stadium is the third biggest stadium in Ukraine, which has to be opened in December. Few days ago the press-service of the Ministry of transport announced about Kharkov airport reconstruction project statement. The building area of airport makes up 115,25 thousands of square meters. The general cost of the airport renovation is 711 659 million hrivnias from the State budget. The reconstruction will last for 26 months.
As for the hotels, they are to be ready to receive about 40000 of guests. The problem of Kharkov hotels is that they are pretty expensive and the services they give are not corresponding to the price and quality. That is why the official tour operator of the UEFA company TUI Travel ñ will seek for acceptable prices from Ukrainian hotels during championship.
Also the majority of roads of the city are undergoing renovation. About 114 million hrivnias were allotted for construction and renovation works of Kharkov roads. The renovation of Pushkinskaya and Rymarskaya streets is completed, and currently repair works are seen at Geroev Truda street, 50 let VLKSM, Saltovskoe Shosse Street, Shevchenko and Zhilardi streets.

More than 40 routes are worked for getting to the Metallist stadium from different places of Kharkov. And all facades of the buildings, which are located along those routes will be renovated at the expense of the city budget
Moreover there are plans to build an overland metro right to the airport which will be located along the Gagarina prospect.
Apart from stadium, hotels and roads, Kharkov makes a lot of efforts to renovate other buildings and tourist attractions. Thus, more than 2 million hrivnas were allotted for the reconstruction of the building of Kharkov Philharmonic Society which is an architectural monument of XIX century. This amount of money will be enough for repairing of a roof and

interior.
Ukraine in general and Kharkov particularly are confidently waiting for UEFA commission of experts, which soon will visit Ukraine.
